Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam is an upcoming Indian Tamil film directed by Simbudevan, who earlier directed the comedy films Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi and Arai Enn 305-il Kadavul, starring choreographer-turned-actor Lawrence Raghavendra, Sandhya, Lakshmi Rai and Padmapriya in lead roles.

The film is said to be a "Western adventure comedy film" based on Cowboy stories, which plays in the 17th century. The film's shooting commenced in April 2009 and is expected to be released in late 2009. The songs were released on December 26 2009.

singam release date announced

Top commercial mass masala director Hari in an interaction with the media confirmed that his Suriya- Anushka big budget action entertainer Singam is 90 percent over.

Says Hari: “ The film is a typical Hari film which means all ingredients for a mass Tamil entertainer like action, comedy, songs, punchlines, sentiments and a moving story mixed together to provide a good time to the common man.”

Hari says the Suriya-Anushka pairing is going to be something new, Vivek’s comedy will make you laugh and Prakash Raj is the bad guy. The film produced by Gjnavel Raja for Studio Green has music by Devi Sri Prasad and will be a summer 2010 release in April.

Simbu’s next “KO” With K. V. Anand

K.V. Anand is all set to kick-start his next film titled Ko. Silambarasan, fondly called “Young superstar”, will join hands with KV Anand.

This movie will be produced by RS Infotainment (producers of Gowtham Menon’s ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya).

Looks like Ko will be a romantic musical action thriller.

A.R.Rahman wins BAFTA

Music wizard A. R. Rahman has done it again.At the British awards ceremony BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts), A. R. Rahman has been adjudged the best original music composer for his work in the film 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

The film directed by British filmmaker Danny Boyle is a rags-to-riches tale of an improbable winner of the game show 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire', has picked up seven awards. 'Slumdog Millionaire' has won awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Original Music Score. The film also won the awards for Cinematography, Editing, Sound and Adapted Screenplay. BAFTA awards were presented for the movie in seven categories. Eyes were on Feb 22 for the coveted Oscar Awards announced. The movie was nominated in 10 categories.

This special 2010 calendar is produced by Worldlight, a subsidiary of
Audio Media Education, in aid of the A R Rahman Foundation and features
pictures of the musical genius A R Rahman.

The other significant feature of this desktop calendar is that it carries
a number of thoughtful quotes from Rahman on universal themes such as
Music, Language & Love.

The vision of the A R Rahman Foundation is to strive towards making
poverty history. As a first step towards achieving this vision, the
foundation will set up educational institutions and provide world class,
state-of-the-art infrastructure and education to underprivileged children
who do not have the means to access & fund their education.
This will equip them with knowledge and skill sets to pursue specialized
higher studies that will provide them career opportunities to build a

The A R Rahman Foundation is presently providing free music education to

KAMAL IN AAYIRATHIL ORUVAN TRAILER RELEASE

The trailer of Selvaraghavan’s much-awaited and yet-to-be-released ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ was released on the other day by ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan in Chennai. The film, starring Karthi, Andrea Jermaiah and Reema Sen, has been in the making for more than two-and-a-half years and is expected to release by January next year.

Kamal appreciated the quest in Selvaraghavan to take pains to make a quality film, though he takes long time as compared to other film-makers. He also appealed to prospective film-makers to venture into film-making only if they had a dream and a goal to work for. “Making pure commercial films don’t make up for quality cinema. Money can be earned anywhere; but only in films that you get happiness too,” said Kamal.

He also requested the critics not to compare Tamil films with Hollywood films. The function was attended among others by Sun Pictures’ Saxena, Suriya, Karthi, Parthiban, Reema Sen, Andrea, lyricist Vairamuthu, music director G.V. Prakash and director Vetrimaran. Producer Ravindran earlier welcomed the guests to the function.
